The integration of modern glazing solutions, traditional elements, and careful attention to detail resulted in a seamless blend of old and new.
Our client owned a property with outdated UPVC and original wooden windows in white, which not only lacked style but also contributed to draughts and poor energy efficiency.
First things first, the old windows needed to go and be replaced with energy-efficient windows that offered excellent U values and a touch of style. However, we had to be sympathetic to the age of the property and its character whilst adding a touch of modernity. Our team of door designers chose to opt for a very similar layout to the front of the property, so we did not change the original entrance door, this was kept and painted in an earthy tone.
We included traditional reeded glass to the front cloak room windows, helping to retain that traditional character, which was an important aspect of this project.
This property has many bay windows, so precision and attention to detail were key. From survey through to installation the finish was imperative and exceeded expectations, which is what Framed strive for in our projects.
At the rear of the property, a modern extension was built and added with bifolds to really create a striking contrast to the original part of the house.
